It has been wonderful to get to know the UBC community since I officially started in this role on November 1, and it gives me great pleasure to share highlights from this first month at UBC.

As the war continues to unfold in Israel and Gaza, the violence, tension and uncertainty is understandably putting significant strain on our community. The human suffering is heartbreaking and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is grieving and hurting, both overseas and here in Canada.

With news continuing to emerge detailing the atrocities from the terrorist attacks on Israel this past weekend, I want to express heartfelt condolences to those in our community who are grieving incomprehensible loss and hoping for the safe return of their loved ones.
